The estimated average prill size is a weighted average using the midpoint of each sieve range multiplied by the percentage of product retained in that column.

Formula: Average = (A% × 1.50 + B% × 2.65 + C% × 4.025 + D% × 5.25) ÷ 100
Uniformity is assessed by how concentrated the product is within adjacent sieve columns. Columns B and C (2.00 – 4.75 mm) represent the ideal size range for most broadacre spreading applications.
