Mechanical Fitter/Assembler

We are currently seeking a Fitter/Assembler with mechanical expertise and a passion for fabrication. This position is ideal for those seeking a change from the typical mechanic shop environment while still utilising their mechanical expertise.

Landaco Equipment is a leading Australian-owned manufacturer of Fertiliser Spreaders based in Wagga Wagga. The company requires additional staff who will take pride in the products and the level of service provided to our customers.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Assembly Work: Your main role job is putting parts together and making sure they fit correctly
  • Documentation: You’ll keep records of the manufacturing and assembly processes, noting important information to ensure quality and safety standards are met
  • Team Support: You’ll assist the Landaco team with tasks like welding, machining, and painting
  • Reading Instructions: Using drawings, and plans to identify out what materials to use and how to do your job
  • Quality Checks: Ensure that the assembled components meet quality standards
  • Workspace Cleanliness: Keep your work area tidy and organised to ensure a safe and efficient working environment 

The successful candidate must have:

  • Mechanical Skills: Proficiency in understanding how machines work, with a bonus if you know about gearboxes, PTO drives, and basic electric and hydraulic systems.
  • Attention to Detail: The ability to notice and care about small things to ensure things are put together correctly
  • Safety Consciousness: Always follow safety rules to keep yourself and others safe at work.
  • Physical Fitness: Being physically fit and energetic to handle the physical aspects of the job
  • Positive Attitude: Having a can-do attitude and being cooperative with your co-workers
  • Eager to Learn: A strong desire to learn new things and improve your skills over time
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with the tools and equipment used for assembling things
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Being skilled at identifying and fixing problems with machines to make sure they work well and last a long time

The pay rate is negotiable depending on qualification &/or experience $34–$45, full-time positions available.
